The General’s Wife: Soft Launch

About a year ago, some friends of mine (with writerly connections) established a restaurant in my neighborhood. Their presence in our ‘hood was highly anticipated, and we residents watched assiduously and patiently while they turned an old laundromat into an eatery. They opened one day to little fanfare, and with a limited menu, but for a week they were packed to the gills with friends and neighbors.

Then they closed for two days. The “soft launch” was over. They re-opened to reviewers and the general public with a full menu and all the managerial kinks worked out.

And thus it is with the 5th anniversary edition of The General’s Wife.

For now, it is only available in paperback (on CreateSpace and Amazon [on sale at this moment!]) – my “soft” launch (ha, ha, get it?! <groan>). I wanted it to have a 2013 copyright date and I wanted it available before November. Why? I’m thinking of entering it into RWA’s RITA Contest which, for the very first time ever, is accepting self-published works and erotic romance (deadline in November). Plus, November is National Novel Writing Month and I wanted General’s Wife to be finished before I embark on a new project.

So, unfortunately, those of you who want to read it on Kindle or another ebook platform will have to wait. But, I intend to put the title in Amazon’s new “Matchbook” program for Kindle and I intend to put it there for free. So, if you purchase the print book from Amazon the idea is that eventually (soon, I hope) you will be able to download the Kindle version for free.

As for other formats and e-readers, I’ve never used any platform other than Amazon, so there will be a learning curve with all the other e-publishers. But I do hope to make General’s Wife available in other electronic formats in 2014.

Once The General’s Wife is out in ebook format, I’ll do more promo, maybe do NetGalley, blog tours, have a sale, whatever it is an indie author does these days. Whatever it takes to get readers reading some hot American Revolutionary erotica!

In the meantime, I got three other books to write and two shorts to promo. And I am loving every minute of it!

UPDATE!
If you’re looking for “Colonial America Erotica” on Amazon you have three choices:

Me! Me! I’m #2! If this is your kink, do not fret over the dearth! There are more hits with “American Revolution Erotica”!

Happy reading!
